In 1999, an ambitious group of Bonanza Fans came up with an idea to

host a small gathering of fans to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the

first airing of the show on September 12, 1959. 

 

What started out small, grew into a 250 person convention at the Biltmore hotel in North Lake Tahoe.  In attendance were several celebrity guests that had worked and been on the show during it's twelve year run.  It was a magical and amazing time for those that were able to attend.  In fact, it was such a success that there was another one in 2002, 2005 & 2009.  These were just the ones that took place at Lake Tahoe!  There were also events in Burbank, California, Carson City, Nevada & even England!

In 2019, the last official convention was hosted by Tom and Louise Swann at their home - the Ponderosa II (a replica of the Lake Tahoe Ponderosa House built by Lorne Greene and his wife Nancy) in Mesa, Arizona.  Again, the fourth of a series of amazing Bonanza events where fans could relive being a part of the Cartwright lore and sit at Ben's desk, pose in front of the famous fireplace as well as the staircase to nowhere.   But the house has been sold and there hasn't been any future plans for another Convention.

So, why are we hosting an Online Convention? 

 

Well, in this unprecedented times we could all use reminders of times when Humanity was kinder to each other, family meant everything and friendships were the backbone of long-lasting memories.  That, is what this event is for. 

 

We are planning a weekend of Viewing Parties, Celebrity Guests, Game Shows,

Script Readings, Fan Hosted Seminars and lots of other enjoyable events.
